02 / Complete-line interfaces
Design normal production and the conditions that disturb it
Misidentification, airborne or contact cross-transfer, retained product and incomplete line clearance can affect later batches even when the recipe is correct. Trace the material from receiving and storage through preparation, dosing, mixing, transfer, treatment and filler feed. Include startup, recirculation, low-level conditions, recipe changes, flushing, cleaning, off-spec diversion and the data exchanged between each module. Review startup, steady production, short stops, restart, low or high demand, format or recipe change, cleaning and shutdown. The interface must protect both the incoming condition and the requirement of the next module.
